We’re always looking for friendly, knowledgeable locals to add to the Chicago Greeter team. Find out how to become a Greeter for your favorite neighborhood.

Volunteer with Chicago Greeter

Chicago Greeters are friendly, passionate ambassadors who welcome visitors from around the world to Chicago and share favorite spots, hidden gems, interesting facts, and local history.

Becoming a Chicago Greeter requires no previous experience — just a passion for Chicago.

We’re looking for Greeters who are:

Welcoming, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable about Chicago
Familiar with a neighborhood or neighborhoods outside of the Loop
Excited to show visitors your favorite spots and showcase authentic Chicago

We’re also always looking for Greeters who are fluent in Mandarin Chinese, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese or have any other foreign language skills, though this is not a requirement.
